About Us

Who We Are

About California Consortium for Prevention and Intervention

At the heart of CalCPI’s mission to mitigate unnecessary suffering lies a solution to a historical problem of access and availability of mental health/social-emotional services. To meet this end, we recruit and commit to extensive training/supervision of graduate students in mental health fields to deliver direct services using a Trauma-Informed approach to intervention.  We employee licensed mental health professionals (e.g., Clinical Psychologists, Marriage and Family Therapists, Clinical Social Workers, School Counselors, Licensed Clinical Counselors, and Mental Health Rehab Specialists) to work directly with graduate students, given their field of study, in providing individual-/group- therapy and psycho-social assessment. Additionally we create training platforms to help train Community Health Workers, Wellness Coaches, and Peer Interventionists to deliver Tier-1 and Tier-2 interventions in community and school settings.  Finally, through our School-Based Mental Health training program, we offer consultation to deliver Multi-Tiered System of Support structures to better embed Social-Emotional Learning interventions/activities into schools to help minimize disruption to the academic learning environment.
